STORY:

You woke up to the digital rendition of Korobeiniki.

(Of course you would recognize the song. You even used to dream of different shaped bricks falling into place every night. Sometimes you would wake up in cold sweat as the jagged tower grew taller and taller without a single-column bar in sight to make it all go away.)

Wiggling in place, you tried to roll off the bed as usual, but nothing happened.

There is no bed.

There is no “you”.

The vast greyness up ahead seems like the only possible way of escape.

Your body twitches as the high-pitch Russian folk music fills your two-dimensional senses, driving you mad.

What will you do?

REQUIREMENTS:

1 - many players
1d6 for each player
Pencil or Pen

HOW TO PLAY:

1. Roll the dice on your turn.
2. Each roll decides your tetra block shape, based on diagram.
3. Only stacking similar to "a certain falling block game" is allowed. (Name hidden due to copyright reasons)
4. You die/lose a turn should a horizontal line is drawn across the playing field. Moving upwards is crucial.
5. Score points based on number of cube that touches the “ceiling”.
6. Game ends when no more legal moves are possible.
7. Player with most points at the end of the game wins.

Hi !

I really like the design of your game and the idea for the game mechanic, which reminds me of Daniel Solis' Pencil Park.

However I am not sure to understand a few details of the rule :
- for 2 or more players, at first I though there was a common grid and one marker per player. However given the point system I am a bit confused : is it one grid per player ? And if so, another question arise : is there 1d6 rolled every turn and every player use it, or should each player roll its dice ?
- is it ok if 2 tetra-blocks with the same marker touch each other ?

If I got the points system right, the goal is absolutely NOT to fill lines but to get as high as possible ?

Regards

Ooohh I will definitely check out Pencil Park!

Thank you for the comment. I will try to explain here:

Q: is it one grid per player?

A: all players use the same common grid, but hey if you want to play on different grids that's your prerogative as well!

Q: is there 1d6 rolled every turn and every player use it, or should each player roll its dice ?

A: I originally imagined it as each player roll a dice for their own turns, but your suggestion works too!

Q: is it ok if 2 tetra-blocks with the same marker touch each other ?

A: Yeah!

Q: If I got the points system right, the goal is absolutely NOT to fill lines but to get as high as possible ?

A: You are correct! Filling a whole line will cause a forfeit. Either missing a turn or just game over.

Thank you so much for playing and spending generous time asking these questions anf clarifications!
